The Amazon Tablet — Shawn Blanc →
An interesting article on the current state of rumors about an Amazon tablet. His best guess is that, essentially, Amazon will be replicating the B&N lineup of Nooks: a cheap touch screen Kindle, and a cheaper limited android tablet. This is fairly credible as far as I’m concerned, after all B&N has done pretty well with the current lineup of nooks.
He also pegs the next iPad as a...

One of the best life-lessons speeches I’ve seen or read. As with the overblown news of Job’s retirement (sort-of), I felt it appropriate to share it.

If you want a good laugh at the expense of stupid Christians then read this. I’m torn between being shocked at how much this harms the image of Christianity and how hysterically funny this is.

Jon Stewart Asks, why is everyone ignoring Ron Paul?
How did libertarian Ron Paul become the 13th floor in a hotel?
Once again, Jon Stewart makes a good point about the Republican candidate field.
Wired: What's the biggest surprise this technology will deliver?
Steve Jobs: The problem is I'm older now, I'm 40 years old, and this stuff doesn't change the world. It really doesn't.
Wired: That's going to break people's hearts.
Steve Jobs: I'm sorry, it's true. Having children really changes your view on these things. We're born, we live for a brief instant, and we die. It's been happening for a long time. Technology is not changing it much - if at all.
These technologies can make life easier, can let us touch people we might not otherwise. You may have a child with a birth defect and be able to get in touch with other parents and support groups, get medical information, the latest experimental drugs. These things can profoundly influence life. I'm not downplaying that. But it's a disservice to constantly put things in this radical new light - that it's going to change everything. Things don't have to change the world to be important.

BioShock Review
BioShock is a great game. It stands apart from other games both as a work of art, and as a game that actually asks intelligent questions about the nature of man and power. The liberal arts student in me who loves just about everything that has to do with economics, government, and philosophy cannot resist doing an analysis of the game and the themes it presents. That said, there is so much...
